Terms of Service

1. What this product is

HACCP Engine helps seafood processors and consultants draft HACCP plans and related worksheets. AI suggestions are grounded in publicly available FDA guidance (including the Fish and Fishery Products Hazards and Controls Guidance) when that guidance has been indexed for the product.

2. Draft only — not professional advice

Output from HACCP Engine is a first draft for review by a qualified food-safety professional. It is not a substitute for HACCP training, professional judgment, facility-specific validation, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, approving, and using any plan before relying on it for compliance, inspections, or commercial operations.

3. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate facility, product, and process information.
• Ensure a qualified individual reviews every hazard analysis, CCP, critical limit, and record before use.
• Do not upload content you do not have rights to share, or credentials and secrets that should not be stored in the product.
• Keep your account credentials secure.

4. Accounts and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Fees, renewals, and cancellations are managed in the billing portal linked from Settings. Taxes may apply. Failure to pay may result in downgrade to Free entitlements or suspension of paid features.

5. Acceptable use

You may not abuse the service (including automated scraping, attempts to poison the shared FDA guidance index, reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, or using the service to generate content for unlawful purposes). We may suspend accounts that threaten service integrity or other users.

6. Intellectual property

You retain rights to the facility and plan content you submit. We retain rights to the HACCP Engine software, branding, and product materials. FDA guidance remains subject to its own terms and public domain / government work status as applicable.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW,HACCP Engine AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR REGULATORY ACTIONS, PRODUCT RECALLS, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON DRAFT OUTPUT WITHOUT QUALIFIED REVIEW. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will bump the version date; continued use after acceptance of the new version constitutes agreement. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel any paid subscription.
